WANTED: Meaningful Overnight Relationship
You may laugh, you may snicker form recognizing the pure insanity in this statement…yet are you asking for that when you step into the social media arena?
Show me the damn money already
Oh, stop lying everyone of you have walked up to me and asked me “I don’t get this social media how can I make money there?”
Ok, sure lets answer these then:
- Do you make money when you connect people in your networking group
- Do you make money by showing others what value a friend offers from their solutions
- Do you make money when you share knowledge you learned that could help them
So, tell me in your personal life do you trust people the first minute you meet them? Or do you test them, do you wait to see if their actions align with their talk? Do you marry them before the first kiss?
Social Media Sleeze
Is this what you EXPECT when you step into the social networking & media arena? You think you can just SHOW UP and we are gonna LOVE you, TRUST you and SEND you butt loads of business cause you are awesome (according to you).
Do you get a Twitter account then proceed to auto-tweet us and expect us to BUY what you are selling? Like the guy you tries to stuff his tongue down your throat on the first date-how well did that work for you?
Do you treat us like a number? “It’s just a numbers game” BULL CRAP that is an excuse for not taking responsibility and time to build relationships-which is not that hard when you think about everyone wants to be treated with respect and kindness.
We hate it that the Corporate America talks AT us so why are you doing the same STUPID THING? It didn’t work for them so why do you think it will work for you? That is why Social Media is popular.
We ALL have a voice now.
How will you converse with your target market and customers now that they can talk WITH you? Will you shudder at having to be REAL, authentic and caring or will you show up like a human being and see the beauty and the opportunity to connect to us with meaning.

Something substantial, like a loyal relationship that evolved over time it is strong because there are ROOTS.
So next time you tweet “How to get 43,000 followers quickly” you will be BLOCKED and I will ignore you. Is that the result you wanted?
