“If I Would Have Known Just One Thing”

If I would have know just one thing

If I Would Have Known Just One Thing

What’s Your ONE thing?

That is a question you want to answer immediately.

WHY?

It is costing you your business.  It is costing you money.  It is costing you peace of mind.  Ok, you get my drift.

My Answer is in the book.

YUP, You gotta read it there.  I am one of the authors and you will love all the answers to this question.

An online friend who “gets it” well is Shane Mac.  Shane asked some of us he has taken the time to connect with “Offline” to participate in sharing our hard earned wisdom of “If I Would Have Known Just One Thing”.

This new format book is a compilation of minds from every stage of life and industries.

  • Known and unknown contributors
  • A true mix of minds and mindsets
  • Collaboration of genders and generations

Enjoy, it is delivered in an awesome new technology.  Shane learned from his time with my friend Hank Wasiak as he created a series of books (Change the Way You See Everything) that stimulated you on many levels.  Textual, visual, with the message like a gourmet meal that excites your taste buds with flavor after flavor.

Loved the book. Varied but with a very personal touch. Abby's story will resonate with a lot of people, choosing a career is difficult at the best of times but we generally don't get the advice we need. I believe that the average person changes their career, never mind job, four-five times in their life.

I loved Tammee's story, great quote to start it off and something that is often overlooked. When you see your kid playing with others that tells you all you need to know about their personal relationships, no teacher comments or how they are in the classroom. We should play more, especially with our kids.

Then there's great advice like Ben's work for free. It's actually something I'm considering to kickstart a business here.

Some great out-of-the-box thinking too, no resumés combined with who not what you know. Creative and old school. Kids, it's never too late to network but the quicker you do it the better. Nathan reinforces this point, it would be nice to see more collaboration and networking installed in the education system.

Michelle's advice is top notch. I'd love to hear more about quietening your mind because in a world of constant input, overload is reached all too quickly. What shines through from her article on making decisions is Michelle's desire to have people take control of their lives. No one else will make a decision for you and once you make one it's your path you've chosen to go down, no one else's. The fact there are people out there that want you to succeed is a powerful motivation to do so. Jenny's page on not waiting is similar, don't delay, do.

I came away wishing I'd had Mike McDerment as a mentor when I started out. If only all bosses realised the power of delegation.

This is a great book for a high school student or recent grad through to a grizzled veteran who might be inspired to write their own tips. If we don't learn from others' experiences, we're doomed to repeat them.

Nick I am touched by you taking time to comment of several of the stories in this book. It is a quick yest profound read.

You are correct in the fact it is useful to any age or level of experience. Which goes to prove you are never to old to learn…AND it's always better late then never.

Thanks Dabney, Shane did a great job of finding a creative format.

Which was your favorite piece? They each speak so different parts of my life experience for sure.

Michele. I love the concept and the content! So many great thoughts in here. I'm a career counselor (one role among my many passions) and will share bits and pieces of this with my clients.

Michelle with two “L”s that would be awesome. Our intention is to inspire and be a reminder we all have great wisdom deep inside from our mistakes and failures. It is what we do with them that shows our strength
