Social Media Online Branding Speaker

Super Simple Facebook Strategy Guaranteed That Works

Facebook strategies, you see them everywhere.  Many are complicated, creating pages, learning how to use code to manipulate things.  Which makes me wonder WHY folks forget some simple strategies…

How do you respond to your friends posts, comments and pics?  Do you validate their wins and support them when they need encouragement?  If you give validation to 5 people a day, of course being genuine and caring, you are creating a sustainable presence online, that franking has good karma working for ya!

So, do you think about how you promote others?  Do you see there are so many opportunities to be a Go-giver.

Here is what I know…

I listen closely to what folks tweet and post.  There has been a lot of conversation that there are folks who are nice but they do not really go out of their way to support or promote others.  There has been a lot of talk about “influencers”.  There has been a lot of talk about high profile folks who create good will, but DO NOT promote anyone outside their click.

High School Cliques not Social

You can take time to visit 5 of your friends each day and comment on their wall or support one of their projects. Just like your blog when folks leave a comment, answer them back.  It’s called social media for a reason.  It’s about two way conversations.  How are you participating in the two way?   Do you give as much or more than you take?

  • Do you focus your promotion on who you think can help you the most-come on it’s obvious to us
  • Do you tweet maybe a couple times for others then after that it is ALL about YOU-come on it’s obvious to us
  • Do you play farmville all the time on facebook then call yourself a social media expert-come on  it’s obvious to us
  • Do you say one thing to someone’s face then another online-come one it’s obvious to us
  • Do you RT only so called influencers- come on it’s obvious to us

Be a Team Player

  1. Do you reach out and help anyone online when they ask for help-SHAZAM that’s being a team player
  2. Do you reach out when folks have had a hard day-SHAZAM that’s being a team player
  3. Do you bring listeners to other people’s radio show-SHAZAM that’s being a team player
  4. Do you validate and encourage anyone (no matter what they following looks like)-SHAZAM that’s a team player
  5. Do you listen to what others are doing online and without them having to ask for your support you reach out-SHAZAM that’s being a team player

How do you contribute to others VS asking their love all the time?

Excellent post - thanks for taking the time to share. I will be more intentional about my encouragement and support of others in my social network.

Cathy Intention is where it is born ;) then to take it a step further and execute with intention brings better results. So glad you found value, gives me music in my head to do a happy dance when that happens giggle

Great post Michele. One of the first things I remember you ever teaching me about social media was the importance of going out and having meaningful conversation rather than yelling at them to buy your products. Keep up the good work!

Thanks Chase. Yes, you and I both see this even in local networking. I feel comfortable giving referrals when I know you and you (not literally you but the person who is connecting with me) take time to get to know me.

Amazing things happen when that trust comes from experiences together.

Thanks Molly. I find it amusing that folks spend time and money to learn techniques and do not get the behavior part down.

It's like getting dressed and eating to run a marathon but not training so you can actually run the race. (oh my another idea, giggle)
