One Thing Keeping Your Social Media From Paying Off

Caught Myself Making an Excuse Today

This past quarter I have been going through the process of authentic leadership development.  This is not a few months or weekend and you are magically transformed.  This is a life-long commitment to developing myself as an authentic leader. I tell you this…  it has given me much blog fodder as I delve into this experience.  A new awakening each day.  I see things so differently now than in years before. AND it is improving my results in social media.

There is a term that is being thrown around a lot lately in business.  It is the core characteristic needed and that is lacking for businesses to be successful today.  They think if they jump into social media ( the new toy) they will have this uprise in business and voila!,  all their problems are solved.

What is the one thing keeping your social media from paying off?  Do you know?

Leadership

Companies have poor performing leaders and it has nearly bankrupted our country.  They have been:

  • self serving
  • arrogant
  • fraudulent
  • out of integrity

they have been…well you get the point you live here too.

What is the answer then?

Some leaders say what and who they have to work with is more challenging.  Others say their hands are tied. I say bull hocky!

Yes, how many times have we been the very thing that stands in our way?

Being a committed leader is about “Who”…you are

not “What” you do.

Each week I am examining “who” was I in that moment?

When I make a mistake I ask better questions.

  1. Is it because I have not been honest with myself, that these results fell short?
  2. Am I operating from a position of strength?
  3. Is there a missing piece here that will help me acheive a breakthrough when I identify it?
  4. Are my goals aligned with “Who” I am and not just “what” I want to accomplish?

That is the secret to getting better results in social media as well.

Are you surprised?

Do you know the one thing I see is the hurdle for your success in the social media realm?

Here is physical proof of what you are missing.

Can you identifiy it?

What does it take for this dragonfly to be able to face this driving rain?

Commitment

How will you establish your commitment in 2012 to creating better strategies so you are driving the social media results your company desires?

Will you ask the tough questions?
Will you hire the expert to guide you?
Will you commit to lead your company to use social media wisely?
