Do You Hide Behind the Social Media Curtain

Do you tweet, leave comments on our facebook walls and even send emails through linkedin yet we have never talked to you OFF the social media networks?  What are you hiding from?

Social Media is and will continue to be the arena where we connect for business.  What is sorely lacking is the ability of a lot of people to step out from behind the curtain and pick up the phone.  I am not innocent here I admit sometimes I say when the phone rings , “Oh lord who now”.  One of the reasons I chose to create my business be mobile and online was to allow me the freedom to travel and live where I wanted to after  following an ex-husband all over the country and starting and stopping several businesses over and over.  I wanted freedom to open my laptop and do my work.

Now, for all the geeks out there who are about to rant about not being “social naturally” give me a break.  What did you do before social media?  How did you get clients?  With a new wave of business owners who this maybe their first business from either walking away or having been told they were not needed by big business it is a new “Mindset”.  You now have to wear a lot more hats.

Marketing and connecting with prospects and clients is your BIGGEST responsibility.  Not, performing your services. So, post your phone number on your website and stop acting like the world is gonna blow up your line.  You should be so lucky, with all that new business you could hire a receptionist, right!
