Are You Obese with Knowledge
How Are You Contributing
to Your Failure
I know tough words. A hard slap for some of us. Like my mentor Tony Robbins says:
“You see, in life, lots of people know what to do, but few people actually do what they know. Knowing is not enough! You must take action.”
How are you using the knowledge you have now? Are you collecting knowledge, workshops, classes and then the one in the room who says “Yeah, all this social media stuff is a waste of time, but I am here to learn what to do”. Or do you say instead “I do not know enough , it is all confusing and overwhelming”.
Learn to master ONE THING. Do not use having to know which is the “best” thing to get started. You have a wealth of information at your finger tips for free. For heavens sake just my radio show (Breakthrough Business Strategies) alone has WAY over 40 hours of podcasts that if Tony Robbins sold it to you would cost an easy $997.00
STOP making excuses. It does not serve you, nor does it compliment your integrity.
Is this you?
- I have to know exactly what I am doing so I will not make a fool of myself
- There is so much to learn it will take me years
- Who can makes heads of tails of it all, I think I will just stick with what I know.
- Yeah, those experts they tell you all kinds of stuff, I never listen to them
These are the same excuses that people use about their weight.
- I have tried every diet there is and nothing works
- I have been fat for years I will never get back to that slender me why try
- I could never change what I eat, everything eventually will kill you so why bother
- What do those experts know their diet didn’t work for me
Before you go off and send me hate mail I agree that we have a serious problem with foods and HIDDEN ingredients that cause obesity. You can learn more about that form a colleague of mine Dr. Chase Hayden (follow and ask him).
Are you stuffing your brain with more knowledge than
you are putting into action?
Some of you might be offended with my example and I want you to know it is about getting your attention so that you are not allowing yourself to get fat with unused knowledge. It is an analogy everyone will be able to relate to with ease.
Too often we have taken the mindset of “Need to acquire enough knowledge” that has just plain ole gotten ridiculous. USE what you already have, set aside an hour a week and do a step. Had you done that when you bought it then you would already have received success VS whineing about nothing works. Well, I am gonna call you out “YOU, have to WORK it FIRST“
So ask better questions, (yes, another Tonyism giggle)
ASK Yourself:
- What am I doing today that takes me a step closer to my goal?
- Who can I ask for help and we both win from participating together?
- How am I playing a role in my own demise and how can I make better choices?
- Where am I doing a good job and how can I do that in an area I want better results?
If you need help then hire them. If you say you can’t afford it then find someone who needs your expertise and trade. Ask better questions. How can I use what I know and partner with someone else who needs what I can do for them?
Then tweet me what actions you took. (Twitter Michele) I am happy to encourage and support you.
